As the Managing Director of Network Strategy, Tia sets the vision and direction of the corps experience leading up to the first day of school.
A Tennessee native, Tia is a graduate of The University of Tennessee with a BA in Communications. Tia became attracted to the education component of the non-profit sector and joined the Teach For America Corps in 2014, after graduating with a Master of Public Administration. She taught 2nd grade reading and writing at Mildred Osborne Charter School in New Orleans, LA and a second-grade math teacher in KIPP Houston. She has also served as a math content team leader.
Tia is passionate about people, planning, and operations and has led corps members and teams in Teach For America’s pre-service training in Atlanta, Nashville, and Chattanooga for 5 years.
